SurTec 650
SurTec 650 is a trivalent chromium-based conversion coating used primarily on aluminium and aluminium alloys to provide corrosion protection and improved paint adhesion.
Developed by SurTec, it is widely specified in aerospace, defence and high-reliability engineering because it offers a RoHS-compliant alternative to traditional hexavalent chromium (Cr6+) finishes, while still delivering excellent salt-spray resistance and electrical conductivity.
The finish typically appears clear to slightly iridescent, maintains tight dimensional tolerances, and is valued for environmental compliance, durability, and compatibility with sealing and painting processes, which is why it is increasingly sought after across regulated industries.
New NHP 500 Mills Machine
We have now implemented the NHP 500 Mill machine into our production line, increasing new production output and keeping Kenard Engineering up to date on the latest tech.
